<description>Yes, this comes up in the news repeatedly. In an effort to reassure everyone, they wrote” We will continue to be confident that we made the right choice to breastfeed our children because the multitude of health and emotional benefits outweigh the PBDE risks.”

I just wish they would ask the equally logical questions about the contaminants that affect the babies who are fed formula. What about everything in the cow’s environment, the pollutants washed out of the air onto the fields, the additives in the feed, the chemicals that leach from the plastics in the linings of the formula cans, the bottles and the nipples – to say nothing about the frequent recalls due to manufacturing problems?! These questions are what the NIEHS Infant Feeding Study addressed. The superiority of being breastfed human milk over being fed cow’s milk formula in bottles was proven unequivocally. The results of that study need to be publicized!
