Another Lactation Pioneer Is No Longer With Us

Active member of the Women’s Infants Children’s (WIC) Program of South Jersey (Eastern USA) and Co-coordinator, Women & Work Task Force, World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA)

Ms. Mulford was an active breastfeeding advocate, who has liasoned with various U.S. organizations to bring this breastfeeding issue to the forefront. She was also the mother of two grown children.

Kay Hoover has asked me to post this tragic news.

Chris Mulford had a massive stroke Sunday morning while camping with her husband in Wyoming. Airlifted to Idaho Falls, she was declared brain dead this morning. She is on life support while her children arrive and her organs are harvested.
That is all the news that is available at the moment. I will update the list with any news I receive from Kay who as you all know was Chris’ dearest friend and with whom Chris founded the LC in Private Practice conference.
I have no words to describe the loss this is to the breastfeeding community and to all of us who have known Chris.
