Alberta: Look What They Are Doing summarises violations of the World Health Organization International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes (WHO Code) in 2011 and 2012.
Thanks to the efforts of Jennifer Peddlesden and the Alberta Breastfeeding Committee, together with the IBFAN Code Documentation Centre, this Alberta Code monitoring report highlights the pervasive and aggressive efforts by the baby food industries to market their products. Despite all the evidence-based information on the risks of artificial feeding, of early complementation and of early cessation of breastfeeding, these industries are clearly more interested in profits than infant and child health!
