ZipMilk is a free on-line resource that allows you to enter a zip code and find the type of breastfeeding assistance you need anywhere in the state. It can be accessed from the NC Breastfeeding Coalition website www.ncbfc.org or at www.zipmilk.com  Individuals responsible for resources can post and edit their own entries whenever necessary.

Breastfeeding Support Groups:

La Leche League mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother. La Leche League of NC is accredited by La Leche League International, and volunteer Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who are familiar with research and current findings dealing with all aspects of nursing.

They offer practical information and support to nursing mothers through telephone help, monthly meetings, and lending libraries of books on childbirth, breastfeeding, and related parenting topics. All breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to

Wake County Human Services’ Breastfeeding Support Group: Liquid Gold at Northern Regional Center (NRC-350 E. Holding Ave., Wake Forest, N.C. 27587) is a free breastfeeding support group led by our clinic staff: Dr. Etienne, Patricia Maness-FNP, and Shveta Patel-Nurse/lactation consultant. Meetings are held 2nd Thursday of each month from 1-2.30 pm. Note: Dates and times will be changing as of May 2016 (3rd Thursday of each month 9-11am).

Light refreshments are provided as well as child care for older children of participants. Our goal is to promote breastfeeding through counseling, support and education. Please check the website for any changes and call 919-562-6300 for further information.
